It is specially known for its intense smell as well as for many medicinal values. It is also belongs to family zingiberaceae same as ginger, turmeric and galangal. In our Indian societies “Elaichi chai” is very famous and compulsory beverage. With flavor enrichment cardamom has many beneficial values in it, some of them are:- Cardamom has antibacterial properties by which it is very helpful in getting rid from bad smell of mouth as well as cavities. As well as it limits the growth of bacteria, fungus and viruses specially in throat area. Cardamom has anti inflammatory properties that helps in relieving pain of muscles, swapping etc. Cardamom helps in digestion as well as in getting rid of vomiting, nausea. Cardamom is Anti oxidant and diuretic in nature, which helps in detoxification of body as well as in lowering blood pressure. Cardamom is helpful in maintaining good cholesterol level. Cardamom oil have good smell and cool in nature so by taking massage of oil we feel relax and sleeping problems may gone. Intake of cardamom helps in loosing weight because it boosts our body metabolism. Some side effects of cardamom There is no such harmful effects are found using cardamom. Some variance may be seen to person to person. Cardamom is diuretic (increase urination) in nature, so it may cause dehydration (low fluid content) and low blood pressure if taken in more quantity. Nausea and surgery related symptoms of indigestion can’t be treated by cardamom.
